Auditions | HEART

Auditions are May 7th - 9th & May 11th- 12th at the

East Hawaii Cultural Center - 141 Kalakaua Street, Hilo

Auditions start at 5pm - 9pm

We are asking that all performers who are auditioning come prepared to sing about sixty seconds of a song from the show, read some lines from the show, and learn a short dance combination.

Performers aged: 8-14

Sunday, May 7th and MondayMay 8th

5PM-9:00PM.

Performers aged 15 and up.

Tuesday, May 9th and Thursday, May 11th

5PM-9:00PM.

Callbacks for all roles.

Friday, May 12th - 5:00PM-9:00PM

MUSIC FOR AUDITIONS

What is a cut?

A cut is a section of a song. Usually at auditions directors ask performers to prepare a short excerpt from a song to perform to showcase their skill. Sometimes directors want to hear a specific song so below our musical director has prepared cuts from Grease that'd they would like to hear from our auditioners.

The cuts provided below are mandatory for those auditioning for on May 7th and May 8th.

If you are a beginning performer between the ages of 8-14 please prepare the Summer Nights cut.
For those auditioning for a larger role, please prepare either Sandy, Hopelessly Devoted To You, or There Are Worse Things I Could Do.
There is sheet music, accompaniment, and a vocal guide provided in each folder labeled with the name of each song.

If you are a performer of ages 15 and up we still ask you come prepared with a song from Grease. You can also use the provided cuts but are not limited to them.
