HEART Education

I HEART Fosse Workshops are about teaching the language of the renowned choreographer Bob Fosse to the community of Hilo. Teaching this style will cover the vocabulary of fosse, from gentle hip rolls, to sensual snapping, sharp and isolated movements, and most importantly, to connect with the dance and theater community here in Hilo.

Each class will cover a separate dance from Bob Fosses library of works.

Each class will focus on a different routine from a Fosse show. For example we will cover ALL THAT JAZZ in one class and Sing Sing Sing in another class. So you can take all six classes - which, again, are free - OR just come to one. If you miss a class - you won’t be behind - because each class is a totally different routine.

Meet the Choreographers

Jason Aiwohi- Tomlin was born in Hilo, Hawaii and is a graduate of Kamehameha. Jason recently began choreographing credits include THE PROM and GREASE as well as providing “additional choreography” for CABARET. Appearing in such shows as CABARET (Bobby), LION KING (Scar), THE PROM (Kevin), GREASE (Kenickie) and most recently the Palace production of ONCE ON THIS ISLAND (Daniel).

Jason Aiwohi- Tomlin

Aleah Kay was born in Hilo, Hawaii and is a graduate of Kamehameha. Aleah has choreographed AVENUE Q, CABARET and GREASE. In addition she has starred in the following HEART productions AVENUE Q (Lucy), THE LION KING (Nala), GREASE (Jan), BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (Ensemble), HILODAYS (Ensemble) and CABARET (Ensemble).

Michael Misita is a former broadway dancer who appeared in the broadway productions of FOLLIES, APPLAUSE, and worked with Bob Fosse on the original production of PIPPIN.
