At Hilo Education Arts Repertory Theatre (H.E.A.R.T), we strive to create inspiring, thrilling, courageous and provocative performance, education and audience-building opportunities for arts-lovers of all ages on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi.

While being a charitable and educational nonprofit organization that caters to all ages, we pride ourselves on the work we have done and the focus we have given to our youth. In addition to presenting theater, we offer theatrical training to largely at-risk and underserved youth in our community. Often our participants attend schools that are classified as a "Title I", meaning that they are low-income or part of a struggling household.

We work with children, young adults, and adults, mentoring them by offering positive, esteem-building performance, technical alternatives, and apprenticeships. Our community has one of the most diverse populations in the United States and honoring our different cultures and backgrounds through the arts is our mission.
